Match Report-Bristol Rovers Terrace perspective

The big game for Doddsy, first home match for him against informs Bristol Rovers (who are in a relegation battle) were looking to get a third straight win in the league. We on the other hand had come off a disappointing draw against 22nd placed Crawley Town and were hoping to get a win.

I was on the terrace for this game. And for a Tuesday night match there was a good turnout of over 4000 fans. The terrace was full and the atmosphere high we were ready to go.

The first half was average. Both teams had chances. A cross that seemed more of a shot was the first of the mini onslaught from the blues. The biggest chance of the first half when Cameron Humphreys (who played very well as always) put a delicious ball in the box waiting for someone to get to it. Joe Low was the first to react a header across to the back post for back in the starting line-up Caleb Taylor to tap home, but a heroic stop from the goalie and some great defending lead to no goal just a mass pile up.

The rest of the first half played out with no fuss just the terrace blasting out appreciation for Will Norris in goal and “no noise from the Bristol boys

The second half was electric we started strong and our knocking on the paid of with Cam Humphrys swinging a foot from a pass from Dan Harvie and it trickles into the corner. 1-0 Wycombe. The terrace exploded, people everywhere jumping, singing, laughing closing together, all celebration the same success. It was beautiful.

The second wasn’t that long behind eight minute later Dan Udoh grabbed a second. Will Norris with a long ball to split the defence Udoh took it down ran a yard or so, faked the defender and put it in the corner with the coldness of a inform striker. Thing got better for the Blues when substitute Shaq Forde got a straight red to send him to an early shower with “Cheerio” blasting in a chorus from the fans.

The game finished 2-0 with Dan Udoh claiming Man of the Match. The boys played well with holding midfielder Xavier Simons and right-back Fin Back having good debuts for the Blues. Fin Back was my MOTM. The kid has given some competition to Club Captain Jack Grimmer.

We need to take this win and confidence to St Andrews to face top team Birmingham. COME ON YOU BLUES
